Joseph Graganella

Joe Graganella was a claims executive previously and he relies on that knowledge and expertise to lead the dispute resolution process. Most of his cases end in a positive result. He is a high-level negotiator and consultant with 30 years of experience in all aspects of claims administration and best practices. He currently serves as a mediator, a mediation specialist representing carriers, a litigation specialist, and an umpire in appraisal. Joe obtained his B.S. in Social Science from Florida State University. Shortly after graduation, he became an agent licensed in property, life, health, and variable annuities of a Fortune 500 company. In 1996 he became an adjuster and has been involved in claims ever since.

As a claims executive, Joe helped build a claims department from the ground up. He focused on best practices throughout his department while building a team with an emphasis on customer service. Over 300,000 claims were administered under his leadership. Many of those claims were related to catastrophic hurricane events in the region. Having dealt with his own personal hurricane claims, Joe understands both the insured and carriers' position. He uses his experience to empathetically resolve disputed claims both pre-suit and post-litigation.

Joe is known in the insurance industry as being knowledgeable, fair, and trustworthy. He was recently asked to speak to the Louisiana State Legislature's Banking and Insurance Committee with regard to the Florida Department of Financial Services mediation process. Joe has been involved in rewriting policy language and consulting with carriers on their processes, policies, and onboarding routines. He is still involved in adjusting claims and representing carriers to resolve disputes but is now focusing on mediating property and injury cases.

Joe has two boys and a wife who is a successful C.P.A. and certified mediator. He volunteers his time at the county level for many circuits and strives to bring all disputes to a successful resolution. His grounded principles and compassion will serve you well in mediation.
